Help Us Make Every Childhood Magical.
Did you know that 1 in 5 American children—nearly 17 million—struggle with hunger? Peter Pan® believes no child in the United States should grow up hungry, so we're donating more than 1 million meals to Feeding America®.
We want to help, but your family can help, too. How? Simply enter your child's first name below and read a story that helps teach children the importance of helping others. Then find out specific ways that you and your family can spread magic to make a difference in the lives of hungry children.

Did you know that there are some children who struggle with hunger? Their families don't have enough food to eat, so sometimes the children miss meals and go hungry.
But did you know you can help? When you help, it will feel like you won a million trophies or had a giant party for you and all of your friends...or had a parade thrown in your honor. Because when you help those in need, you get the wonderful feeling of knowing you did something good. And that makes you feel great!
Doesn't that sound awesome? To start helping children, all you have to do is...
Pack Your Lunch
Pack a peanut butter sandwich for lunch instead of buying lunch at school. Then donate your lunch money to Feeding America® to help them buy food for hungry kids.
For Parents: Pack a Peanut Butter Sandwich Day or Donate Your Lunch Money. Each Wednesday in January, parents and children across America are encouraged to join Peter Pan® and pack a peanut butter sandwich for lunch and donate their lunch money to Feeding America®. Every dollar donated can provide up to seven meals for people in need.

Share Your Food
Donations are gifts to people who need extra help, and donating is another way of sharing.
Did you know you can donate food to those who need it? Ask your parents if they can help you collect food from around the house for donations or help you organize a food drive.
For Parents: Ways to Share Food
Every year, Feeding America® gives food and groceries to hungry Americans, but they also need help stocking shelves. In fact, peanut butter is one of the most requested products! Help Feeding America by donating food or organizing a neighborhood or school food drive.
Download a food drive kit from Peter Pan® to help you have your own food drive. It's actually a lot easier than you might think. http://www.nourishkidstoday.org/get-involved/food-drive-kit/index.jsp
Share Your Time
You also can share your time by volunteering at a local food bank. When you volunteer, you will go to a food bank and spend time helping the people there. You might get to sort and pack food that's being given away. Ask your parents how you can help.
For Parents: How to Volunteer
To end hunger in America, Feeding America® needs volunteers to devote their time and energy at local food pantries or food banks.

Tell Your Friends
Tell your friends, your teachers, and your family that hungry kids are counting on our help. If enough people know about the problem and how to help, maybe one day all kids will get enough food to eat.
For Parents: Spread the Word
Tell friends and family about the largely hidden problem of childhood hunger in America. One in six American kids struggle with hunger, and the more people that know, the bigger difference we can make.
Tell the World and make a difference
Simple letters can make a real difference. Ask your mom or dad to help you write letters to important people who work for the government and can help.
For Parents: Become an Advocate
Talk to local and national government officials about the issue of childhood hunger in the United States. Get your child involved and teach him or her about advocacy. You can use one of our ready-to-send email templates or write your own letter.
Keep Working to end child hunger
Small changes can make a big difference, so remember to keep working to fight childhood hunger. Find other people who want to help hungry children and talk to them about the different ways you can help. Together we can help end child hunger!
For Parents: Join the Community
Ending child hunger won't happen overnight, but you can learn about events, success stories, and more ways to stay engaged by becoming part of the nationwide commitment to ending child hunger. Together we can keep childhood magical for all children, and change the odds from one in six kids hungry to none in six kids hungry.
